Blueberry Island Lodge is a family run business. Your hosts will be
George, Amy and Adriane. The Riddle's have been in Bristol Bay for
quite some time. Amy came to Alaska in 1968 with her dad, mom and older
sister when they moved from Pueblo, Colorado to Dillingham. Her dad
moved them to King Salmon one year later. George moved to Anchorage
from Salt Lake City with his dad, mom and younger brother in 1965. His
dad moved the family to King Salmon in 1975.
George and Amy attended Bristol Bay Borough School District in
Naknek together and became an item. Amy graduated in 1976 and George a
year later. After Amy's graduation from the University of Alaska
Fairbanks with a teaching certificate, she and George were married in
1982.
For many years George worked locally for the Bristol Bay
Telephone Cooperative. Amy continues to teach high school as the
technology instructor (computer applications). George and Amy's
daughter, Adriane, was born on October 8, 1985.
In 2003 George found it possible to live his dream of having a
lodge on the Kvichak River. Having fished and guided on the Kvichak
since '76 George has an extensive working knowledge of the river.
George also has a burning desire to share the river and the fish that
dreams are made of. George and his family now spend their summers on
Blueberry Island at Blueberry Island Lodge. Hoping to provide a
comfortable, yet affordable, experience to anyone, has led them down
this path.
Blueberry Island Lodge is a perfect destination for the
fisherman who doesn't want or need to be guided. Guests will be
welcomed to dry comfortable lodging, well-maintained boats and motors
and a river with some of the most incredible fish available. Does this
sound ideal? Contact us today to make it a reality. |
